SOSVine ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the SOSVine mobile application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. We support Apple Sign-In, which may provide your name and email.
Vineyard Location Data
We collect GPS coordinates for your vineyard locations to provide location-specific weather forecasts, disease risk calculations, and nearby community reports.
Photos
When you submit community reports, you may optionally attach photos of disease or pest observations. These photos are stored securely and shared anonymously with nearby users.
Device Information
We collect push notification tokens to deliver alerts about disease risks, weather warnings, and community reports. We also collect basic crash and performance data.
Usage Data
We collect anonymized usage analytics to improve the App's functionality and user experience.
How We Use Your Information

- Display relevant community reports from nearby vineyard owners

Data Storage & Security
- All data is stored using Supabase, hosted on secure servers within the European Union (EU)
- Data is transmitted using industry-standard TLS encryption
- We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data
- Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only
Community Reports & Anonymity
- When you submit a community report, it is shared anonymously with nearby vineyard owners
- Other users can see the report content (disease type, severity, photos, notes) and approximate location, but cannot see your identity
- Your personal information is never attached to community reports visible to other users

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. Third-party services only receive the minimum data necessary to provide their functionality.
Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable EU/Portuguese law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Restrict or object to the processing of your data
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time

Data Retention
- Account data is retained as long as your account is active
- When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed from our systems
- Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytical purposes
- Community reports are retained while relevant but may be automatically archived after a defined period
Children's Privacy
SOSVine is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
